Beckett Opts to Leave Rushall

Evo-Stik League Premier Division club Rushall Olympic's Grant Beckett has decided to call time at Dales Lane and open a new chapter in his playing career in order to get more regular minutes on the pitch.

Although Pics supremo Neil Kitching is disappointed, he fully respects his decision.

The manager said: "Grant has this week decided that he feels it's the right time to move on and find more regular football. Whilst I am disappointed to lose Grant, I fully understand his decision, and he goes with our best wishes, and I hope his next move is as successful as it has been with us.

"As a team mate, and as his manager over the many years at Rushall, Grant has always given everything he has in a Rushall shirt, and has been one of those players who you could always rely on. Never one to miss training, he has also played out of position many times to benefit the team rather than himself.

"Grant will be hard to replace, because of his consistency, season after season, and the many young players we have at the club should look at his record with us, and his professionalism, and try to aspire to this."

Pics vice-chairman Nick Allen has also gone on record on behalf of the club to thank Beckettt (pictured) for his sterling efforts: "Grant is a terrific lad who is fiercely proud of being an integral part of what we have achieved at Rushall Olympic. His attitude is incredibly refreshing and in my opinion, if any squad of players all had the heart and passion for a club as exemplified by Grant Beckett, then they would not go far wrong in achieving their goals."

It is expected that Beckett will be moving on to join neighbours Chasetown, where he has played previously.
