Dorchester Town striker Fallon back in New Zealand squad for World Cup playoff

Dorchester Town striker Rory Fallon has been included in New Zealand's squad for their World Cup play-offs.

The 35-year-old former Swansea City, Plymouth Argyle and Swindon Town man is a shock inclusion in Anthony Hudson's side that face a two-legged play-off against Peru for a place at next year's finals in Russia.

Fallon became a hero back in 2009 when he scored the only goal in a play-off against Bahrain to send New Zealand to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Since that historic day however, Fallon has moved to 10 different clubs. The forward now plays for Southern Premier League Premier side Dorchester Town, after previously playing for the likes of Truro City, Aberdeen and Yeovil Town.

Fallon's last appearance for his country was as a substitute against Mexico in a friendly in the United States in October last year.

He has travelled to New Zealand this week despite a hamstring injury sustained on duty for Dorchester last month.
