Greenbacks Friendly Marred By Freak Injury

Calor League Division One Central club Bedworth United chalked up their second pre-season friendly win inside a week after beating Hinckley United 2-1 at the Oval on Saturday - but the game was marred by a freak half-time injury.

Two goals from Danny Edmond in the 42nd and 62nd minutes proved enough to earn victory for new manager Ady Fuller (pictured) in his second game in charge - and follow the club's 4-0 win over Coventry Sphinx four days earlier

Hinckley pulled a goal back in the 78th minute but the Greenbacks were good value for their success with new skipper Ben Steane and Kyle Baxter impressive in midfield.

The start of the second-half was delayed for 30 minutes after a freak injury to Greenbacks second choice goalkeeper Craig Jones in a half-time kick-about.

Jones suffered a suspected broken leg and an ambulance was called to the ground to take him to hospital before play could resume.
