Hesketh Joins Vics Staff

Evo-Stik League Division One North club Northwich Victoria have announced the addition of Tony Hesketh to their backroom coaching staff, to assist Lee Ashcroft and Ian Kilford with immediate effect.

Hesketh is a very well known and respected name within the Non-League circuit, and has enjoyed success in his spells as manager of Kendal Town in 2004/05, as he impressively steered the Mintcakes to the play-off final where they met AFC Telford United, narrowly losing 2-1 away in front of 4,500 people.

Hesketh (pictured) had a spell at Chorley between 2007 and 2009 when the Magpies were in relegation difficulties, and he steadied the ship immediately, keeping them in the Unibond Division One North, as it was then known.

Lancaster City of the Evo-Stik League Division One North were Hesketh's latest employers, where he again guided the team to a play-off final, losing by a single goal at home to Colwyn Bay, while also securing two successive finishes inside the top seven in seasons 2010/11 and 2011/12 to complete an impressive managerial CV.

"Lee and Ian are really looking forward to tapping into Tony's undoubted vast knowledge of football at Evo-Stik level and beyond in the forthcoming season and would like to wish him every success on joining us here at the Vics," said a club spokesman.
