Quintet Commit to Buxton

Steve Istead, Grant Black, Scott Maxfield, Charlie Johnson and Neil Stevens have all committed themselves to Evo-Stik League Premier Division club Buxton ahead of the new season.

Midfielder Istead (pictured) was previously at Eastwood Town, from where the Bucks acquired his signature in February 2012.

Black, a right-back, came through the junior ranks at Barnsley before spells with Harrogate Town and Stalybridge Celtic. He arrived at the Silverlands in the summer of 2007.

Player-assistant manager Maxfield was initially appointed Buxton player-manager in November 2011, following the departure of John Reed, but later stayed on as assistant manager when the club made a new appointment.

Johnson is a locally-based young left-back who has come through the under-19s ranks at the Silverlands.

Stevens was originally signed from the Farsley Celtic reserve side on loan in November 2008 and later made his stay permanent. He had a brief spell at North Ferriby United, but after just a handful of appearances for the Humberside club he returned to the Silverlands.
