Reds Keen To Find Arnison Replacement

Conference North club Workington's main transfer objective is replacing the goals lost by Gareth Arnison's departure, insisted coach Gavin Skelton.

Arnison, who scored 100 goals during a prolific spell with his home-town club, quit to join Barrow after moving to Manchester.

Skelton (pictured) knows it won't be easy, and said: "Every club in the division is looking at the same players.

"It's even more competitive when you're searching for a striker.

"Gareth did really well for Workington, but we need to find someone who can help Jonny Wright in attack."

Wright has scored four times in thee pre-season games, netting twice against Annan Athletic and Penrith.

Skelton, who is loving life at Reds following his arrival on a player/coach role, said: "Jonny is doing a great job.

"He clearly loves the club, and so do the other players. They want to stay here and make sure we are successful. It's great to see, and be part of."
