Shots boss Waddock to speak with McCarthy over Ipswich loan duo

Aldershot Town boss Gary Waddock will speak to Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy this week about the possibility of extending defender George Fowler and midfielder Adam McDonnell's loan, despite Will de Havilland having returned to the EBB Stadium from Wycombe Wanderers.

De Havilland missed out Saturday's game against Leyton Orient but Waddock confirmed the defender, who renewed his loan from Wycombe Wanderers last week, is fully fit.

And with de Havilland due back for this weekend's game at Macclesfield Town, Waddock is looking forward to having options in defence for the first time in a long time.

"He was sitting in the stand because the paperwork hadn't quite gone through," Waddock explained. "Will did well for us when he was here with us earlier in the season but unfortunately he picked up the [knee] injury.

"George Fowler has done very, very well for us and his loan runs out next Saturday. I'm looking forward to having a choice on Saturday."

And Waddock isn't ruling out extending the loan of Fowler and his club-mate McDonnell from Ipswich Town.

"I will speak to Mick [McCarthy] about it next week and we will make a decision then," Waddock said. "They have both been excellent and it's good for their development. Adam has played with the [Ipswich] first team and George is playing for their U23s, so competitive football for them is really, really good and they've been very good for us."
