All change at Telford as management team and chairman depart

AFC Telford United manager Rob Smith and assistant manager Larry Chambers have left the club on a day of major change at the New Bucks Head Stadium.

Chairman Ian Dosser has also confirmed his decision to depart after thirteen years with the Vanarama National League club.

Smith and Chambers were in their second spell with the Bucks, after taking charge between 2006 and 2010.

They returned to the club in August 2015 after leaving Hednesford Town.

Last season the duo led the club to seventeenth position in the National League North, three places and seven points above the relegation zone.

That was an improvement on their first season back at the New Bucks Head Stadium with the Bucks ending the 2015/16 season in eighteenth position.

The club also confirmed the departure of chairman Dosser and revealed that he will hand over control of the club to their major shareholders.

A club statement said "AFC Telford United today parted company with Manager Rob Smith and Assistant Larry Chambers.

The club would like to thank them for all their hard work during two challenging seasons in helping maintain our National League North Status.

Everyone at AFC Telford would like to wish Rob and Larry all the best for the future.

The Club Chairman Ian Dosser has resigned from his position with the football club this morning. After 13 years with the club, Ian feels this is the right time to hand over the reins to the majority shareholding family.  Therefore, Andy Pryce has been appointed as interim Chairman.

Everyone at AFC Telford United would like to thank Ian for all his help over the years.

There will be no further statement from the club at this time".
