Armed Forces Members Admitted Free To Western League Games

Members of the Armed Forces will be able to watch matches in the Toolstation Western League free of charge.

The league is giving free admission at all its clubs to people in the Services on production of an identity card at the ground entrance.

A statement from the league said: "The current men and women of Her Majesty's Armed Forces are doing such an exceptional job both at home and abroad during these difficult times and the Toolstation Western Football League would like to show their support and appreciation."

Non-league footballers across the country will take part in a national event next month to commemorate the centenary of the First World War Christmas Truce.

Every club in the country is being asked to help create a photographic record one hundred years on from the moment soldiers on both sides of the battlefields in Belgium put down their weapons and crossed no man's land to play football.

All players at matches from 5th December to 14th December will pose in a mixed photograph in the spirit of the togetherness shown by troops on 25th December 1914.

The photo can be uploaded to social media using #footballremembers and will appear on
