Moke agrees new York City deal

York City's hopes of bouncing back into the National League at the first attempt have been handed a boost with the news that midfielder Adriano Moke has signed a new one-year deal.

The twenty seven year old is in his second spell with the Minstermen after spending the 2011/12 season at Bootham Crescent.

After leaving the club he went on to have spells with the likes of Macclesfield Town, Wrexham and Boreham Wood, before Gary Mills made him one of his first new signings when the former European Cup winner returned to take charge of the Minstermen for a second time.

Moke made eighteen appearances in all competitions last season but couldn't prevent their relegation into the National League North.

However the midfielder did have more success in the FA Trophy, coming off the bench to play the entire second half of their 3-2 win over Macclesfield Town in last season's final.

That was the second FA Trophy Final win of Moke's career after he won the competition in his first spell with the Minstermen.

Now, with his new deal signed, Moke hopes he can add promotion back to non-league's top tier this coming season.

Speaking to the club's HD Player he said "Obviously it is good to get sorted out as soon as possibly and I'm delighted.

"I want to show my loyalty to the club and to the gaffer.  I am still gutted what happened last season but that has gone now.

"We will try and put it right this season and try and bounce back"
