Northwich Victoria issue plea for funds as repayment deadline draws closer

Hallmark Security League Premier Division club Northwich Victoria have revealed they need to raise £5,000 in the next two days or they could fold.

The Vics supporters have been fundraising for over a year now, as the club seek to pay a debt remaining from the club's previous management.

Over £66,000 has been raised, with supporters looking to run the club on a community club status.

After relegation from the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South last season, the Vics have been provisionally placed into the Hallmark Security League's (NWCFL) top tier.

However, with the club's future under serious threat the club issued a plea to help them raise the remaining £5,000 before a deadline set by the Football Association passes.

A club statement read "Over the past 12 months our amazing fans have contributed a staggering £66,000 to repay debt off from previous management and to also run the club efficiently and properly as a community club.

As part of the agreement to take the club out of administration it became apparent that the final £15,000 was required by the FA to settle all debts off from previous ownership to stop the club from folding and after another generous amount of donations the supporters have raised a further £11,000 leaving us just £5,000 short of our target.

Our appeal to anyone footballing loving friend or colleague however big or small the donation is that we simply have 48 hours to meet this financial deadline with the FA or all our efforts will be in vain. Please if you can help click the link below on the just giving page that we have set up to try as a last resort to get this £5k together to meet the FA demands. We thank-you as always in advance.

The Cheshire club have been placed into administration three times in the last ten years, but this time, with the deadline edging near, it could bring an end to one hundred and forty three years of football at Northwich Victoria.
