Blow For Met As Smith Departs

Met Police have announced that Ty Smith has left the club and has signed for another Ryman League Premier Division side.

Smith (pictured) has been a great servant for the Met since he arrived at the club three seasons ago.

Manager Jim Cooper said: "Ty has decided to join another team in our league. The decision came as a surprise to me as his travelling to them is another 75 miles further from his house.

"Regardless of the reasons, Ty leaves with a heavy heart. He has been outstanding for us over the past three seasons, he is a fantastic player and his new club have a great signing, our loss is most certainly their gain."

Cooper went on: "Although he will be hard to replace, we have some very good players currently trialing with us and I am very pleased with the levels of fitness and commitment the players have shown during pre-season training.

"There will be further signings announced when we approach the start of the season. I can announce that one of the best defenders in the league, Steve Sutherland, will captain the side and new signing Ricardo Joseph will be vice-captain."
