Clarke Makes Parramore Switch

Parramore FC have signed midfielder Ian Clarke from fellow Northern Counties East League Premier Division side Heanor Town.

Clarke (pictured), who has also previously played for Matlock Town, Gainsborough Trinity, Retford United and Staveley MW, said of his move to Sandy Lane: "From what Russ has said and from what I've seen in training the club is going places.

"I've played with a few of the lads who are here so I know what quality we've got. The young lads look really sharp too; add that to the experience we have it looks promising.

"If we work our socks off there's no reason this club can't achieve big things this year. I can't wait to get going."

Parras' manager Russ Eagle said of Clarke's signing: "Ian brings a wealth of experience at this level and above, he's a winner and a great technician in possession and works his socks off out of possession. He's a real quality addition to the squad. He was Heanor's skipper last year, and adds to the leadership qualities that I have brought into the club with the capture of Cotterill, Haigh and Patterson."

Clarke sat out Tuesday's Buxton game along with skipper Danny Patterson due to slight injuries, but both should feature in Saturday's Sandy Lane derby against Worksop Town, which has a 12pm kick-off.
