Hampton Recruit Midfielder Carrick

Ryman League Premier Division outfit Hampton & Richmond Borough have confirmed that Rob Carrick has commited to the club for the coming season.

Midfielder Carrick started last season at Wealdstone after being at Camberley Town, but not being able to get regular football, he left and signed for Chertsey Town, meeting up with current Beavers coach Neil Woodyer again, after working with him at Camberley.

Carrick freely admitted that Woodyer moving to the Beveree was the catalyst to him trying out in pre-season with the Beavers.

He said: "I thought I could play at this level with Hampton and I knew Woody was coming down here, so I decided to get in touch with him and try and get a go here. So far it's gone pretty well.

"The league is strong but I think for us, the play-offs is a good outside bet, we have a good squad here so I think we can play with the teams in the top half, and personally, I'm looking to nail down a starting spot in the first team."
