Pettit Makes Marquee Signings At Canterbury

Simon Pettit, the new manager of Southern Counties East League Premier Division club Canterbury City, has made early marquee signings in Mo Takoloo and James Gregory.

"Their combination of experience within the Kent League and beyond will be vital for the upcoming season," said assistant manager Luke Farmer.

"Simon and myself have received many people's well wishes from players and managers alike and we are extremely excited with the prospects ahead.

"The foundation has been set in terms of the players returning from last season and myself and Simon see this as a huge benefit."

Boss Pettit (pictured) joined the club this summer from Sittingbourne in Ryman League Division One South, where last season he was first team captain.

He has 14 years' senior first team experience playing at Kent League and Ryman League levels, having made his debut for Ramsgate's first team aged 17.

Assistant boss Farmer played for Maidstone United at the age of 19 under Jim Ward, and also later at Ramsgate.

He was part of the Ramsgate coaching staff during their Kent League and Ryman League-winning years.
