Poppies Bring In Duo

Calor League Division One Central club Kettering Town have signed striker Kieren Joseph and winger James Tricks.

And Poppies boss Dean Thomas (pictured) has confirmed he will be offering a deal to former Kettering defender Brad Piercewright, who played in the 1-0 friendly success at Brantham Athletic on Saturday.

Jospeh scored twice in last week's 5-0 success at Harborough Town and featured again at the weekend while Tricks, who was recently with Fakenham Town, has also been snapped up having impressed the Poppies manager.

Ahead of the weekend, the club also revealed that goalkeeper Jamie McAlindon has also been registered for the Calor League Division One Central campaign.

Thomas said: "It is pleasing to get Kieren and James on board.

"I want us to have plenty of pace in the team this season and that is something they offer along with the other attacking players we have in the squad.

"James is a young lad who can play on either wing. He has a lot of energy and he is very direct in what he does.

"There is lots for him to learn but he will do that and I think he can be a real asset for us."

Piercewright was part of the Kettering team that won the Dr Martens League Premier Division title back under Carl Shutt back in 2002.

He went on to play for Thomas at Hinckley United as well as having spells at Rothwell Town and Stamford having had Football League experience with Queens Park Rangers and Northampton Town.
