Popular Defender Departs Slough

Calor League Division One Central club Slough Town have parted company with Alex Brown, who has been a very popular member of their squad for a period of time now.

Club bosses Jon Underwood and Neil Baker said in a statement: "We have been in constant dialogue with Alex (pictured) since we took over, and communicated to him our position at the very start that we were bringing in centre halves to the club and that his opportunities could be limited. But Alex's attitude is exemplary and he wanted to give it a go under us, and has been at every session we have put on.

"However having had a long discussion on Sunday regarding him and how he has trained and then also speaking with Wooze (David Woozley), we have decided that now is the right time for Browny to move on, and this also gives him enough time in pre-season to find another club.

"We would like to thank him for everything he has done at Slough Town and would like to reiterate what a nice guy he is. We wish him the best for the future."
