Rangers striker set to secure dream Leicester City move

Stafford Rangers striker Josh Gordon is set to complete a dream move to Premier League champions Leicester City.

The former Nantwich Town forward has missed three Rangers fixtures over the last two weeks after impressing during a trial with the Foxes.

The move from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League to Premier League means that Gordon will follow in the footsteps of his former Newcastle Town team mate Cohen Bramhall, who joined Arsenal from Hednesford Town during the January transfer window.

He missed Saturday's stalemate with play-off chasing Whitby Town and after the game Rangers manager Neil Kitching confirmed a move was close.

He said “It’s been sorted as we speak. Agents are going through the paperwork as we speak and it should be completed in the next 48 hours or so.”

Gordon began his career at Stoke City, before spells with Alloa Athletic and Peterborough Town.

He played for Newcastle Town and Rhyl, before joining Nantwich Town in 2015.

And now he looks set to end his stay with Stafford Rangers by securing a move to the Champions League Quarter Finalists.
