Striker Hampson Joins Stanway

Barry Lakin, manager of Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division club Stanway Rovers, has confirmed the signing of prolific striker Adam Hampson.

The former Braintree Town Reserves front man (pictured) finished top of the Thurlow Nunn League Division One goal charts last season after netting 27 times in 33 games.

Now he wants to test himself at a higher level, which is why he has joined Premier Division Stanway. "Adam scored lots of goals last season," said Lakin.

"He's a quick, lively striker who was obviously very successful in Division One.

"Now we're looking forward to working with him and seeing what he can do for us in the Premier Division."

Lakin also confirmed that Ben Parkin has joined from Wivenhoe Town.

The centre-half will be a direct replacement for Matt Cripps, who has left to join Needham Market.

Lewis Bentley is the only other player to have left during the close season and the striker is currently on trial at Ryman League Division One North side Maldon & Tiptree.

Stanway's Andy Joslin is also on trial at Park Drive.
