Stutes Sign Two More

Brian Page, manager of Conference North club Histon, has confirmed the signings of Joe Asensi and Charlie Binns.

Asensi is no stranger to Bridge Road having graduated through the Scholarship Programme at the end of the 2011-12 season before moving on to join Soham Town Rangers, where he was a regular starter last year.

The 20-year-old (pictured) is primarily a left sided or central midfielder but is also comfortable in the left back role, and Page is pleased to have re-signed the versatile youngster, stating: "Joe is a very good player indeed and I'm delighted to have him back here with us. He can play anywhere across the midfield and is comfortable at left back as well. He is a very good addition to the squad."

Also joining the Stutes squad is another versatile youngster, 18-year-old Charlie Binns. Operating in midfield, Binns has impressed in both recent pre-season games at Haverhill Rovers and again against Brentford on Tuesday evening, but can also play at right back.

He started his career in the youth ranks at York City before moving on to Tadcaster Albion in the summer of 2012, then to Biggleswade Town before joining Eynesbury Rovers in March, where he finished the season.

"Charlie has been outstanding in pre-season," said Page. "He has really taken his chance to impress with his performances against Haverhill and Brentford and deserves an opportunity to play Conference North football. He's young and hungry to succeed and fits very well with the squad ethos we have here and the collective desire to improve and progress. He will do well for us and is another good addition to the group."
