ABACUS LIGHTING CENTRAL MIDLANDS LEAGUE ROUND-UP 18/08/2007
With the majority of Central Midlands League clubs now three matches into the season, remarkably, only three clubs have a 100% record.
In the Buckingham Insurance Supreme Division it`s Askern Welfare who lead the table, they got the better of Dunkirk winning 3-2 at Lenton Lane.
It is played three won three for the Yorkshire club.
Gary Evans, Michael Evans and Daniel Maudsley scored for Askern.
Dunkirk’s Michael Evans and a penalty, converted by Joel Wilson, replied for Dunkirk.
Hatfield Main and Radcliffe Olympic have seven points from three matches and are in second and third places.
Hatfield were held at home by Heanor Town, both teams failing to score, whilst Radcliffe Olympic also dropped two points at home against Grimsby Borough, this match also ended scoreless,
Forest Town met another newly promoted club, Pinxton, but it was the Mansfield area side that took the points and in style, crushing the home team 7-0. Forest Town are in 4th place but this result sent Pinxton to bottom position.
Both Stephen Dillon and James McCann scored a brace for the visitors, Ryan Gregory, Mark Hurst and a Craig Jackson penalty, completed a miserable day for Pinxton’s new Manager Paul MacFarland.
A shock result at Gedling Miners Welfare, visitors Bentley Colliery took away the home team’s 100% record, recording a 3-1 victory at Gedling Road.
Bentley’s first win in the Supreme Division. Mark Cooper, Jonathan Lugton and Shaun O’Malley scored for Bentley.

A pleasing result for Bentley’s Manager Mark Adams, after their midweek defeat at Holbrook Miners Welfare.
Another club to go down to a shock defeat were Southwell City, goals by Mark Deakin and John Harris gave Blackwell Miners Welfare a 2-0 victory at the Memorial Ground.
If only Blackwell could be consistent, they could be Championship challengers.
Radford played their first game of the season at home to another club, Appleby Frodingham, who also were on their first match. The Nottinghamshire club took the points, winning 3-1 with goals by Richard Harrison, John Manders and Daniel Morgan.

Clipstone Welfare and Greenwood Meadows shared four goals at ‘The Lido Ground’.
Richard Clifton and an own goal for Clipstone. Nathan Shand and Tony Spencer for Greenwood.
Holbrook Miners Welfare and Rolls Royce Leisure also drew, at the Welfare Ground.
This match ended 1-1, with Aaron Johnson on target for the home team, Martin Foster replied for Rolls.
Already being said to being a relegation tussle, the match between Graham St Prims and Lincolnshire visitors, Nettleham certainly produced the goals and it was the visitors who came out on top, winning an epic struggle 4-3.
Jason Tinkler (2), Lee Beesley and Luke Heald scored for Nettleham.
Brett Adul netted all the Prims goals, a result that left Prims pointless after three games and second from bottom in the table.
Blidworth Welfare with three wins out of three, lead the Manor Pharmacy Premier Division, an own goal gave the Nottinghamshire club the points at home against Newark Flowserve.
Welbeck Welfare, dropped two points in midweek drawing 4-4 with Thoresby Welfare, this after their opening match, where they netted seven goals, well today they were goal happy again and it was Yorkshire Main who were in the firing line as the home team ran amok, winning 8-2.
For a change, both Dean Rick who only scored once and Carl Haslem who netted a brace, were out scored by Mark Stirland, who led the way with a hat trick. Danny McLane also weighed in with two.
Andy Betts followed up a midweek brace for Yorkshire Main, by scoring both their goals.
Welbeck are third with Ollerton Town 4th, both having seven points.
Ollerton won at Kiveton Park 3-2.

Sutton Town AFC are in 4th place and what a start for them, an opening 7-0 win being followed by a surprising 4-1 defeat at Bolsover Town in midweek and today a convincing 6-0 home success, over another new team to the CMFL, Armthorpe.
The home team were much too strong and more experienced than the lightweight visitors; AFC goal scorers were Kyle Ludlow and Jon Pickess (pictured), who both scored twice, Damien Magee and James Senior added the other goals.
Armthorpe to their credit never gave up and the football they played was a credit to the team despite the score line.
Yorkshire Main despite their heavy defeat are in 5th place with Bolsover Town 6th. Bolsover failed to live up to their midweek performance, being held to a goalless draw by Newark Town.
Parkhouse remain undefeated, but they also had to be content with a point at Harworth CI, this match also ending goalless.
Calverton Miners Welfare and Stanton Ilkeston fought out a tremendous encounter at Hollinwood Lane, Calverton edging the match 4-3.

Good away wins for Thoresby Colliery Welfare and Kimberley Town, Thoresby followed up their impressive performance in midweek at Welbeck, by taking all three points at Thorne Colliery. A goal by Liam King was sufficient.
Kimberley got the better of Louth Town at Park Avenue, goals by Steve Kirkham and Steve Rudge gave Graeme Critchley’s side a welcome 2-1 victory.
