OSBOURNE IMPRESSES ROMS
21/09/2009
Zamaretto League Division One Midlands club Romulus have snapped up Aspire Midland Alliance neighbours Highgate United’s talented teenager Jamie Osbourne.

The 18-year-old central midfielder has impressed the Roms, who have been watching his recent performances.

Roms` boss Richard Evans is eager to find a replacement for Peter Folkes, who has been diagnosed with a fractured knee cap.

Evans (pictured) already has Seb Hamilton and Mel Gourlay as long-term casualties as both needed surgery for knee injuries.

Evans also paid tribute to FA Cup opponents Castle Vale. After Roms’ 2-1 success over the Midland Combination minnows last week, Evans said: “It took two wonder goals from Ashley Jackson and Lei Brown to beat them, something which they won’t come up against every week.

“Castle Vale will do very well this season and I expect to see them right up there in the Midland Combination.’’

Roms recorded a fifth straight victory with their win over Castle Vale, which booked them a trip to Zamaretto Premier side Bedford Town in the next round.
