BAY GO SIX POINTS CLEAR
31/10/2009
UniBond League Division One North leaders COLWYN BAY moved six points clear with a win at CHORLEY, who had also lost at home to SKELMERSDALE UNITED on Tuesday.

Josh Macauley gave Bay a 28th minute lead at Victory Park and Dave Challinor doubled that 6 minutes after half time, with James Mullineux replying 19 minutes from the end.

A four-goal blast from Michael Norton moved CURZON ASHTON up to second ahead of FC HALIFAX TOWN, who were on FA Trophy business and now have five games in hand.

Luke Mack gave Curzon the lead after 13 minutes at the Tameside Stadium against Radcliffe Borough and then Norton (pictured) struck to end a bad week for the home side.

PRESCOT CABLES registered their first away win when they beat next-to-bottom HARROGATE RAILWAY 3-0 at Station View with goals from Phil Cooney, Mark Calland and Paul Lundon.

Bottom side ROSSENDALE UNITED are still looking for their first success on the road after going down heavily 5-0 at TRAFFORD, whose scorers were Daniel White and Scott Bralow with two apiece and Melford Knight.

The games between BAMBER BRIDGE and OSSETT ALBION and WAKEFIELD and GARFORTH TOWN both ended 1-1.

Nathan James had Ossett in front after 24 minutes at Irongate – Phil Eastwood levelled from the spot 12 minutes from time – and Tom Greaves` 17th minute opener for Garforth was equalised even later by Wakefield whose Marc Roberts netted in stoppage time.
