IDE GOES AWOL AGAIN 02/02/2010
Charlie Ide's career with Zamaretto League Division One South & West club Bedfont Green could be over before he's even kicked a ball for the club.
When the former Brentford striker joined the club over Christmas, it seemed his nomadic trek around non-League clubs had finally come to an end.
But when Green finally returned to league action, following six postponed games, at Uxbridge last Saturday, Ide had gone AWOL.
And while manager Dennis Bainborough has not given up hope of seeing the controversial youngster return, he will not be chasing him.
Bainborough said: "I don't know where Charlie is, we've had no contact with him.
"You don't totally close the door on a talent like his, but I won't pander to him."
Ide has form for leaving clubs soon after joining. He left his former club, Chertsey Town, after just one game.
One rumour doing the rounds is that Ide was cold-shouldered after saying he wanted to join Staines Town when Green played them in a Middlesex Cup tie two weeks ago.
Bainborough added: "Anything is possible with Charlie. But if he does come back to play for us, it won't be before I've had a strong word in his ear."
