PERRY REJOINS ADDERS 05/02/2010
Centre back Todd Perry has agreed to terms with new manager Dale Belford to return to Zamaretto League Division One Midlands club Atherstone Town.
Perry (pictured), 26, who was instrumental at the back in the Adders` rapid rise through the ranks, has most recently being playing for UniBond League Division One South side Willenhall Town and is expcetd to feature this Saturday against Leighton Town.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa, a former club of newly Belford, have agreed to loan out a first-year professional to the Sheepy Road club until the end of the season and also pay his wages.
Belford is still talking with the Premier club as to who will be helping Adders out between now and the end of the month but the rookie boss is delighted.
“It’s a tremendous gesture from Villa and I very much appreciate it,” said Belford, who kicked off his goalkeeping career with the Birmingham-based side when a teenager and has retained many contacts with the club. However, Belford looks to have lost the services of at least half the side that beat Sutton Coldfield Town 2-0 as he looks for his managerial debut this Saturday at Leighton Town.
“We had a meeting on Tuesday night and the response from most of the players was a positive one. There were several who didn’t turn up so I presume they have left. “
On a positive note Tom Guiney, who was on target against Sutton, is staying while keeper Nathan Woakes is another staying put.
