SPILLANE DELIGHT AT WALSH`S RETURN 08/02/2010
Terry Spillane, manager of Essex Senior League club Stansted, has confirmed that he is delighted to have re-signed Bradley Walsh, who will be a welcome addition to his squad for the run-in
Walsh left Hargrave Park when Stansted were in transition some three seasons ago to join up with Canvey Island-based Concord Rangers before playing for Romford`s Essex Senior League championship-winning side during 2008/09. But, with a change in the players` circumstances of late and due to him recovering from two separate operations, he has been away from the game for some considerable time.
Spillane said he had kept in regular touch with his former striker and that the situation that had presented itself was win-win all round, and comes at just the right time as his team were further burdened at the weekend with the postponement of their away fixture at Basildon United.
Spillane said: “Bradley Walsh is a quality performer, no question about that. And albeit not available for the next week or so due to the final recuperation period, he is a fitness fanatic and has kept himself well in trim.
“Another added bonus is that he is also well known to the majority of the present squad as mates that have grown up together.”
