RETFORD RESTRUCTURE 09/02/2010
UniBond League Premier Division club Retford United have announced further details of their restructuring.
The Badgers will now be managed by a `Limited Liability Partnership, with the inclusion of a working committee` which has been "formed to manage the club into the future", according to a club statement.
An LLP is a separate legal entity, distinct from its own members which can own and hold property, employ people and enter into contractual obligations.
Debts incurred are the debts of the LLP and although it has members, there are no directors or shareholders.
The statement also appeared to reach out to the club's supporters. "Retford United is committed to engaging with all aspects of the community to achieve relations that have, for many years, lacked leadership, direction and harmony," read the statement.
"Co-operation and mutual engagement will be sought with the often forgotten supporters of the club, leading to a greater understanding and clarity for those merely wishing to support their team."
As the club had announced previously, all players of the Retford United senior team were offered deals to remain at the club and all bar one, Ryan Ford, have accepted.
Manager Peter Duffield has also accepted terms on his deal.
The new working committee and managers of all the teams from junior to senior are due to attend meetings to put forward ideas about the club's future direction.
