ROYLE FAMILY STAR PLAYS FOR STONES 29/07/2003
Actor Ralf Little, star of TV's 'Royle Family' and 'Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps', played for Go Travel Kent League club Maidstone United in their 3-1 win in Sunday's Phoenix Cup Final against AFC Wimbledon.
Little came on as a 75th minute substitute, playing at left back. His performance was more than satisfactory as he showed that he could quite comfortably perform at this level of the non league game.
The star, who was playing strictly as a guest on this occasion said: "I've been training with Ryman League Division One South side Staines Town but I can't commit to playing for a whole season because I never know what my work committments are going to be."
The full interview with Ralf Little can be seen on 'STONES TV', part of the official Maidstone United website, at www.stonestv.co.uk from Tuesday 29th July. 'STONES TV' is a new venture that has been running for just over one week. In it's first week 'on air', over 1,000 unique hits were received on 'STONES TV'.
Website editor Jonathan Parr said: "We are learning with this venture as we go along. It has been very popular in the first week and the fact that we have had over 1,000 views of the content to date, would obviously give any potential sponsor some very good coverage for their money."
One final bonus for the Stones was that Ralf Little has agreed to play for Maidstone again on Sunday 17th August, when they entertain an Ex-Tottenham Hotspur XI at Bourne Park, Sittingbourne at 4pm.
