CANVEY BID FOR TWO 29/07/2003
Ryman League Premier Division club Canvey Island have placed left-sided midfielder Scott Forbes has on the transfer list.
Forbes, who signed from Southend United at the beginning of last season, played for Canvey Island reserves at Basildon United last Saturday, rather than go to Roots Hall with the first-team.
Meanwhile, Canvey boss Jeff King has offered former Cambridge United and Ipswich defender David Theobald a contract and he should complete formalities sometime this week.
King is also hoping to secure the services of Southend United left-back Damon Searle (pictured), who has spent some of the pre-season on trial at Colchester United, playing against Grays Athletic and Charlton Athletic. However, it is understood that the U's have also tabled a deal for the 30-year-old.
However, midfielder Stuart Thurgood, another player released by Southend United towards the end of last season, will not be offered a contract by Canvey after trialling at Park Lane.
