BLYTH TURN TO VETERAN BAKER 23/11/2001
UniBond League Premier Division club Blyth Spartans have signed former Carlisle United and Motherwell striker Paul Baker.
Spartans' boss John Charlton moved for the 38-year-old forward because of an injury to 16-goal top scorer Glen Robson.
Baker started his playing days with Bishop Auckland before going on to make over 450 League appearances in a 17-year professional career with the likes of Southampton, Carlisle, Hartlepool, Motherwell, Gillingham and Torquay, and has also played for Albany Northern League sides Bedlington Terriers and Durham City in recent seasons.
