OLD TEAM-MATES RE-UNITED AT ROCKINGHAM ROAD
05/02/2004
Kevin Wilson, manager of Ryman League Premier Division club Kettering Town, has taken on a former team-mate from his Derby County days to help with coaching, scouting and looking at future opponents.

Wilson (pictured) has brought in ex-Everton, Luton and Cambridge United striker Alan Biley to help out at Rockingham Road after a chance meeting with the player he partnered in the Rams’ attack during the early 1980s.

Biley has built his own business, Biley's Health and Fitness Centre in Biggleswade, and has managed and coached at a number of non-League clubs in recent years.

His first foray into management was with Potton United in the Eagle Bitter United Counties League and then with Barton Rovers before resigning after four months to take over at Ridgeons Eastern League outfit Diss Town.

He then managed Spalding United, then members of the Dr Martens League, and most recently has been helping out at another UCL outfit, Wootton Blue Cross.

Biley has also coached in America, Holland and Greece and had a stint as assistant boss with Irish club Waterford United.

"I've been at Kettering about three weeks," Biley said. "I bumped into Kevin in a shopping centre in Milton Keynes and it went from there. I was always looking for a club at Kettering's level and I like what I've seen so far.

"One thing I've discovered is that it's no good carrying a big ego.

"I'll try to make myself useful and reach the stage where the players and I respect each other."
