BIG SIGNING FOR WILLENHALL
21/08/2004
UniBond League First Division newcomers Willenhall Town have made one of the week’s most significant signing taking advantage of 33-year-old defender Chris Curran’s decision to return to the Midlands.

The Birmingham-born player was taken on from school as a trainee by Torquay United for whom he graduated to make over 150 appearances before being sold to Plymouth Argyle in December 1995 for £50,000.

He made 30 appearances for Argyle before moving to Exeter City in 1997 where he again played more than 150 games.

When Curran (pictured) dropped out of the Football League he looked like staying on the South Coast with Weymouth, who had been impressed with him after coming up against him whilst he was on-loan at Tiverton Town last term.

However, with his decision to move to the Midlands, the distance to Weymouth was too much and he decided to join the Reds.
