SWIFTS MAKE SECOND SIGNING OF THE WEEK 28/10/2004
Ryman League Premier Division club Heybridge Swifts have followed up the signing of Simon Head from Ridgeons Leaguers Halstead Town by acquiring the services of attacking midfielder Scott Forbes from Nationwide South side Bishop’s Stortford.
A left-sided midfield player, Forbes (pictured) is actually returning to Scraley Road as he spent part of last season on-loan with the Swifts from Canvey Island.
Forbes was originally with Saffron Walden Town before having a trial with Canvey Island during the summer of 2000.
Southend United then offered him a contract taking him from Park Lane and he spent two years at Roots Hall after which he was released and re-joined Canvey Island in July 2002 on a two-year deal.
He spent part of the 2003/04 season on loan at Heybridge and then Bishop’s Stortford and joined the Woodside Park outfit on a permanent basis in the summer of 2004.
