ROVERS YOUNGSTER JOINS CITY 05/01/2005
Nationwide Conference National strugglers York City snapped up Doncaster Rovers’ youngster Jon Maloney on a month’s loan in time for him to him to make his debut in the Yorkshire derby defeat against Scarborough.
Maloney (pictured) has had little chance to break into the first-team this season but has done well at reserve level and Rovers manager Dave Penney sees the move as an invaluable one in terms of Maloney gaining further experience.
Maloney came up through the youth set up at Belle Vue before making it to the first-team squad but has made just one senior appearance so far.
