DOMINOES REACT TO DECLINE
25/01/2005
Moore & Co Solicitors North West Counties League club Stone Dominoes, without a league win in two months, have reacted to their decline by signing the versatile Wayne Teague.

Dominoes’ former director of football Dean Glover recommended the former Stoke City Academy player, who also spent three months on trial at Port Vale.

The pacy Teague was one of three players to be recruited on NWCL forms by Dominoes last week and a further two could be in the pipeline.

The others, goalkeeper Adam Alcock and striker Martin Devaney, are at the opposite ends of the age scale.

Alcock, aged 17, is the younger brother of former Stoke keeper Danny Alcock, who played for Dominoes at the beginning of last season before being signed by Barnsley. He is currently with Nationwide Conference National side Accrington Stanley.

Alcock plays for the Staffordshire youth side and is training twice a week with first choice Rob Hackney under the guidance of coaches Mark Williams and Rob Smith.

The veteran Devaney has done the rounds with Tamworth, where he was a member of their FA Vase-winning side back in 1989, Gresley Rovers and Eccleshall and now turns out mostly in over-35’s football, but has been signed as a player.

Devaney is a member of the Dominoes board of management and chairman Bob Bowers said: "I have been trying to sign Martin for the last fifteen months and he has finally put pen-to-paper!"

And club secretary Vicky Turner has revealed Dominoes have put in seven days' notice of approach to a player at both Eccleshall and Rocester to enhance the squad.
