EXPERIENCED DUO JOIN BUXTON
03/03/2005
Making their debuts for Northern Counties East League Premier Division club Buxton in Tuesday night's 2-1 win at Selby Town in the Presidents Cup were two experienced defensive recruits made by manager Nicky Law.

Defender-cum-striker Andy Brownrigg has arrived at Silverlands after spending just over a month with league rivals Hallam.

Brownrigg (pictured) returned to Maltby Main in January 2004 after a spell with Ossett Albion. He then signed for Nationwide Conference National side Scarborough two months later but was able to appear for Main in their run in to promotion from the NCEL Division One last season.

An experienced and well-travelled player, he has also turned out for the likes of Norwich City, Rotherham United, Kidderminster Harriers, Wakefield-Emley
Gainsborough Trinity, Hednesford Town, Northwich Victoria, Greenock Morton, Yeovil Town and Stalybridge Celtic.

Dean Fearon was also signed by the Bucks in time to take his place in the side against Selby.

Fearon joined Belper Town last September from Wakefield-Emley, where he was a regular performer after a move from Stocksbridge Park Steels in November 2003.

He made a name for himself as a non-nonsense defender at Ilkeston Town and has also experienced life alongside the professional ranks at Rotherham United and Barnsley.

Gavin Smith scored both goals in the second half to earn Buxton a semi-final place at Pickering Town.
