WOLVES LEGEND JOINS FOR TEAM-MATE AT HEDNESFORD 05/02/2002
Former Wolves striker and Managing Director John Richards has delighted Hednesford Town supporters by joining the Dr Martens League Premier Division club on an advisory basis.
Manager Kenny Hibbitt (pictured), a former team-mate at Molineux, asked Richards to help out on the business side of the club, with Richards giving little hesitation in saying 'yes'.
"It will be purely in an advisory capacity," said Richards today. "Kenny and I go back 30 years and when a mate asks you for help it is only natural that you want to do all you can."
Pitmen chairman Steve Price was delighted with the news, saying John has "a lot of expert knowledge and is a well respected figure in the area."
It is hoped Richards may be able to use some of his contacts to ignite interest in the club after a poor season which sees Hednesford stuck in the relegation zone with only a third of the season remaining.
