HANLON JOINS U`S
02/09/2005
Much-travelled midfielder Richie Hanlon has switched from Nationwide South club Weymouth to Conference National outfit Cambridge United

The 27-year-old Wembley-born Hanlon (pictured) only signed a two-year deal with the Terras after being released by last season's Coca-Cola League Two beaten play-off finalists Lincoln City in May.

Hanlon, who started his career with Chelsea, has made a habit of moving in and out of League football.

After leaving Stamford Bridge he played for Southend and then had spells with Welling United and Rushdenm & Diamonds before a brief return to Welling followed a short stint at Peterborough, where he soon returned.

Another loan spell at Welling has since been followed by a second term with Diamonds and the onot Lincoln.

In addition, Mark Angel’s loan spell with Cambridge United from Southern League Premier Division King’s Lynn has been extended until the end of the season.
