HENDERSON BLOW FOR GATESHEAD 04/10/2005
UniBond League Premier Division club Gateshead have suffered a blow with the news that striker Kevin Henderson has completed a move to Arngrove Northern League club Morpeth Town, his last non-League club before moving into the professional ranks with Burnley back in 1997.
Henderson (pictured), who joined the Tynesiders in the summer after spells with Burnley, Hartlepool and Carlisle, has appeared eleven times for Gateshead this season, scoring six goals, including a brace as recently as last Wednesday night that helped secure Gateshead’s second league win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Ossett Town.
Henderson, whose wife has just given birth to their second child, is also heavily involved with the family business and it is the combined pressures of both family and work that made him decide to quit the UniBond League in favour of the shorter travelling distances involved in the Northern League.
