MORE BIG ARRIVALS AT TRURO? 06/06/2006
Ambitious owner Kevin Heaney is poised to bankroll another costly non-League shopping trip this summer ahead of Truro City's forthcoming Toolstation Western League assault.
Heaney confirmed that the club has identified as many as four new arrivals following their landmark promotion from the Carlsberg South Western League.
Among those being linked with a move to Treyew Road are Tiverton Town's prolific forward James Mudge, Torquay United defender Matt Villis and veteran Scott Hiley (pictured), who was on Exeter City's books last season.
Commenting on the feverish transfer speculation, Heaney said: "One of those players interests us but I'm not saying which one. It wouldn't be fair to the players at this time.
"We've identified certain players and there should be three of four new faces coming in over the summer."
One player who seems unlikely to be joining City, though, is Bodmin Town striker Danny O'Hagan. The county hit man almost joined the club at the beginning of last season and City were tipped to make another move for the player having sounded him out in January.
But Heaney said: "Danny O'Hagan is a very good player, but we already have three quality strikers at the club.
"We're planning to speak to certain players soon, but you have to bear in mind we couldn't make seven-day approaches for players in the Western or South Western leagues until June 1st.
"We want the right type of players here. They have to want to join us for the right reasons and share our ambition for success."
