CRICHTON FOR CAMBRIDGE 01/07/2006
Former Grimsby goalkeeper Paul Crichton has joined Nationwide Conference National club Cambridge United as their first-choice stopper.
Crichton (pictured) was sacked by Conference National side York City in 2004/05 after becoming involved in an incident with supporters.
The much-travelled 37-year-old former Nottingham Forest, Grimsby, West Brom and Norwich keeper joined Gills in August 2005 following brief spells with Leigh RMI and Accrington Stanley.
Crichton left Gillingham to join the U`s in a role that also includes scope for coaching the club's young keepers.
Crichton made just one senior appearance during his year at the Priestfield Stadium.
