REDFEARN QUITS BORO 06/07/2006
Scarborough manager Neil Redfearn has decided to part ways with the Nationwide North club following the appointment of Mark Patterson.
Redfearn's assistant Eric Winstanley made the decision to step down when Patterson was appointed to the club's coaching staff.
As a result, Redfearn (pictured) followed Winstanley's lead and Patterson will now hold talks with the Seasiders as he looks take over the reigns.
"I had a meeting with Neil and Eric about a number of issues I had about the way things were progressing," said chairman Ian Scobbie.
"I told them I was proposing to bring in Mark Patterson to work alongside Neil.
"That would have meant no place on the coaching staff for Eric, who would have been given notice under the terms of his contract.
"However, Neil indicated he was not prepared to countenance any changes to the coaching staff and both indicated they would leave the club with immediate effect."
