GRAY COUP FOR GUISELEY 21/08/2006
Guiseley, who have been a comfortable mid-table side in the UniBond League Premier Division for the past few seasons without ever really mounting a challenge, seem likely to make a push this time around.
Goalkeeper Steve Dickinson, who was with Bradford City as a youngster, returns to the club after seven seasons with Nationwide Conference National side Southport, whilst striker Gavin Knight (pictured above) is another with considerable UniBond experience, having set the First Division alight with North Ferriby United for whom he hit thirty-eight goals in 2002/03 before switching to Barrow from where Guiseley have now signed him for a fee of around £5,000.
The Yorkshire club have also signed Stuart Gray (pictured) from now Conference National outfit Oxford United.
The Scotland under-21 international has more than two hundred appearances under his belt in the full-time game, having made his debut for Celtic in 1992/93 season and going on to play around thirty games for the giants of Scottish football. He then moved south of the border to play for Reading and Rushden & Diamonds.
