BRACE QUITS COUNTY 04/10/2006
Deryn Brace has resigned as manager of Principality Welsh Premier club Haverfordwest County.
The former Norwich City and Wrexham defender, who works as a postman, says he has decided to step down due to a forthcoming change in his work commitments.
However, he added that he hopes to continue as a player at the New Bridge Meadow in the future.
Under 31-year-old Brace (pictured), the youngest manager in the league, the Bluebirds achieved a highest-ever third place in the Welsh Premier in 2003/4, qualifying for the UEFA Cup and losing 4-1 on aggregate to Hafnarfjördur of Iceland.
However, after finishing fourth in 2004/5 and eighth last year, County are currently without a win in the league this season.
A Wales under-18 and under-21 cap during his six years at the Racecourse, Brace was also called-up to the Welsh senior squad but was forced to drop out through illness.
He played for Carmarthen Town and Llanelli before joining Haverfordwest and has made 138 Welsh Premier appearances as a player.
