BILEY GETS BONES POST 15/11/2006
Former Luton, Derby, Everton and Portsmouth striker Alan Biley has been officially installed as the new manager of British Gas Business Southern League Division One Midlands club Rothwell Town following a two-week stint as caretaker-boss.
Biley (pictured) was assistant-manager at neighbouring Nationwide North side Kettering Town on two separate occasions as well as caretaker-manager of Spalding United for a spell last term.
And he is determined to do everything he can to help the Bones move forward both on and off the field.
He said: "I am delighted and I am happy the club have made a quick decision.
"I have really enjoyed the last two weeks and now I am ready for the challenge of doing the job on a full-time basis.
"This is a good club run by good people and myself and my assistant Ian Jackson are hoping to put smiles on faces and make the club as professional as possible.
"It won't be easy because like any club there is a budget we need to stick to. But part of my job will be trying to encourge more sponsors and I would urge anyone interested to contact us.
"The players have been great so far and I can't fault them in terms of effort and attitude.
"I want to help Rothwell climb through the leagues. But these things take time. It's a great challenge and I am looking forward to it."
Bones chairman Peter Bradley was delighted Biley had agreed to join on a permanent basis. He added: "I have been very impressed with Alan in the last couple of weeks and I do believe this is great news for the club. He has vast experience in non-League football as well as an illustrious playing career behind him.
"I know there were other clubs who were interested in him and it's a real coup for us that he decided to stay on."
