SLABBER FOR BORO 28/12/2006
Nationwide Conference National club Stevenage Borough have completed the capture of 21-year-old striker Jamie Slabber from rivals Grays Athletic.
Mark Stimson worked with Slabber (pictured) whilst manager of Grays and believes that he can resurrect the career of the 6'2'' forward.
"Jamie is a talented player with quick feet who works hard and he could become a big player for us," said Stimson.
"He thought he was going to be a Premiership player after appearing for Spurs a couple of seasons ago and sometimes it takes a while for a 19-year-old to get over the disappointment of being released and buckle down to getting back.
"He's knows what I want from my players and I'm looking forward to working with him again.''
Chairman Phil Wallace added: "Jamie should benefit from working with Mark and we want to add another two or three players before the window closes at the end of January.
"Our slow start to the season means we don't have the luxury of dropping points any more if we want to make the play-offs.
"We've got six more league games before the window closes at the end of January and irrespective of those results we'll be building for the long term, by adding players that Mark and Scott believe can improve us."
