TINNION CALLS IT A DAY
29/06/2007
Veteran former Bristol City stalwart Brian Tinnion has finally decided to hang up his boots for good.

Tinnion (pictured), who also had a spell as manager at Ashton Gate, turned out for Team Bath last season, helping them to reach the British Gas Business Southern League Premier Division play-off final.

But he has told Team Bath boss Ged Roddy he is unable to commit to regular football next season.

Tinnion will instead focus on developing his thriving soccer schools in Bristol and Spain.

He revealed: "I simply have too much work on to be able to help out Team Bath.

"I really enjoyed playing again, but there's no way I can commit to next season.

"It wouldn't be fair on the club and the players if I wasn't able to train and play regularly.

"That's why I called Ged and told him I'd not be playing on.

"The soccer schools have taken off in a big way and they are now taking up most of my time. I've had my playing days and now my future lies in coaching."

Tinnion opened a soccer school at South Bristol Sports Centre in March, since when he has established similar operations at Abbots Leigh and Longwell Green.
