BAKER TEAMS UP WITH CASSIDY 03/03/2008
Former Blyth Spartans and Newcastle Benfield Bay Plastics boss Paul Baker has teamed up with Tommy Cassidy in what UniBond League Division One North club Newcastle Blue Star believe will be a `dream` ticket.
Cassidy (right) took over at Kingston Park a few weeks into the season and, following the recent departure of Tony Elliott, who became goalkeeping coach to the England Futsal squad, is delighted with Baker`s (pictured above) arrival.
Cassidy said: “Paul knows the North East scene inside out, particularly the Arngrove Northern League, and I’m confident we can take the club to the next level.
“Paul will assist me in this ambition but we will not achieve or objective overnight. Clubs have to be built from the bottom up and this is our first season in the UniBond, so there is still a lot to do.”
