FORMER WILLENHALL PLAYERS JAILED

Two former players with British Gas Business Southern League Division One Midlands club Willenhall Town, who peddled heroin and crack cocaine on the streets, were jailed for three years each by a court on Wednesday.

Anthony Boswell, who was arrested as he ran out on to the pitch to play for Willenhall, and his cousin Nathan Jackson (pictured), were caught with drugs worth hundreds of pounds after police swoops.

Jackson, 21, the son of former Willenhall, Bromsgrove Rovers and Stourbridge boss Joe, was arrested after police found £40 worth of heroin and twenty-six wraps of crack cocaine, worth a total of £500, during the search of a house linked to him in Stafford, Wolverhampton Crown Court heard.

Boswell, who joined Willenhall from Sport Italia West Midlands (Regional) League side Darlaston Town, was wanted by police after they searched an address linked to him in Wolverhampton in June last year.

Boswell, 24, who scored in each of his first two appearances for Willenhall, was arrested at the club’s Noose Lane ground moments before a match in November.
