TWO MORE IMPRESSIVE RECRUITS FOR CANVEY 30/07/2002
Ryman League Premier Division club Canvey Island have signed two players from the Football League in a bid to ensure that they go one better than the runners-up spot this time.
Left-winger Scott Forbes has joined Jeff King's side on a two-year contract having been released by Southend United, while defender David Gregory (pictured) has quit Second Division Colchester United to join brother Neil at Park Lane.
Forbes, who was wanted by King before he signed for Southend two years ago, joined up just before Saturday's game against Histon and made his debut against the Cambridgeshire side.
The experienced Gregory, who made over 250 League appearances with Ipswich, Peterborough and Colchester, is expected to put pen-to-paper in time for him to play against Erith and Belvedere at Park Lane on Tuesday.
